Location: University of Kent
Cross-disciplinary, digital methods are becoming essential to unlocking the secrets of our material past, including the construction of images, texts, their supports and the tools used to produce them. This workshop will include a morning session with Dr Richard Guest from Engineering and Digital Arts at Kent who will lead a session on the basics of image processing techniques, and an afternoon session with Dr Emily Guerry from the School of History who will take us on a journey through the seen and unseen material world in Canterbury. The aim is to generate cross-disciplinary discussion about the world we usually experience through our eyes, and how we can enhance our knowledge of the material world using methods that go beyond sight.
