Material Process: Constructing Holy Space

Returning to the spectacular setting of Canterbury Cathedral, this session interrogates the materials used in its building and maintenance. Participants will gain some practical experience of the processes involved in making and conserving the stained glass and stonework with Drs Leonie Seliger and Heather Lawton, directors of the stained glass and stonemason’s workshops. Dr Rachel Koopmans will discuss the significance of the windows within their setting and their meaning within the holy space of the cathedral.
